newsletter #1, Saturday, July 16, 2001
Hello
Newsletter Subscribers,
It has been a busy week at
IzzaBoutChu! I am still busy designing new images and vectorizing
cute clip arts. I have also been blogging about friends and the Casey
Anthony verdict. Here is what I have covered this week:
On the PRAYER TAB,
I discuss the Casey Anthony verdict. Mine is NOT a popular voice, but I
am so opinionated that I couldn't hold back. Do I think that she is guilty
or not guilty? I guess that you will have to read the blog to find
out. Some of you may be offended as you read...and if that is the
case....please be sure to read all of the way to the end before becoming
insulted. I have never seen this country be so passionate about anything
since the 911 crisis. Oh yeah....there is a place where you can voice
your opinions....but please keep it clean or I will have to remove that option.
I know how we can let loose our lips whenever we are that passionate about
something...and I am no different!
Also, if you have prayer requests, please send them to this address: IzzaBoutChuToo@yahoo.com
Do not send last names. Only first names and brief descriptions of
the situation. God knows what is going on! :-) I will add them to
my prayer list! I also ask that if the prayer is answered that you list
that as well so that we can give Him Praise!
On the MY
LIFE TAB, I discuss how political correctness has
taken our freedom of speech away from us. I list examples of political
correctness that are tongue-in-cheek. This article is not for you if you
are ultra-sensitive. I speak from my heart because if we don't
communicate, we will never learn from one another. The blog also goes on
to discuss how we women need to stick together as sisters. There is a
cute song that I found on the You Tube that says it all. It is sung by
young girls and I love the lyrics. I
only wish that I knew who they were so that I could give them credits!
I added a new addition (last entry, last row) to MY
FAVORITES. I found a site that has verses (FREE) for all of those
cards that you have designed! How many times have you made a card,
spilled out all of your creativity and then fell silent when you opened it
up? You had no idea of how to express what you wanted to say? Well,
this site will help you with that. They give away free verses the way
that I give away free files. You will have to copy/past the address into
your browser because for some reason, I can't seem to get the address listed so
that all you have to do is click on it. It just won't work. I am
sorry about that!
CHAT ABOUT
PAZZLES:
I really should rename this one. I placed this option on my
website because Klo Oxford....the Pazzles Queen.....has classes on Sunday
nights and Tuesday afternoons. During those classes, there is a chat set
up ongoing during the live class. (BTW...anyone can
participate....Pazzlers or not) Some people were getting distracted by
the chatter and so I set up this option for them. That way, they can save
their chatter for after class at my website. But even if you are not
a Pazzler, you too can use this as a way to connect with your scrap
booking friends. Set up a date/time and "meet". I have
loved the conversations that I have had with my new UKer friends. Feel
free to use this feature....but please keep it above board and clean.
ORDERS for WPC , PDF, SVG, and MTC files: This feature is for those of you who need a
special file. I charge for these kinds of files. The price would be
determined by the complexity of the file.
Also, from here on in, I am listing all free files as pdf and wpc.
If you want an svg or mtc, let me know....but I will be charging $1/file.
Most programs accept pdfs. If I list all file formats on my website, it
takes way too long and takes away from the quantity and quality of the designs that
I want to post in the future. This will encourage you to learn how to
import pdf if you don't already know how. One person said that she didn't
know how to use pdf for svg.....well....I made a tutorial on how to do this and
will post it on Monday. :-)
Videos: This week's videos
were about running your programs as an administrator (thank you Klo Oxford!)
and how to use the Pazzle's Inspiration Scissors Tool. My videos are
still not that great. I am still fighting with technology. But, I hope
that these will help those of you who requested these tutorials.
Gallery Challenge: Check out the Flower
Girl Design at the bottom right corner of this tab (on the website). She
could end up being your file. I am going to start a challenge
to get our creative juices flowing. If you would like to win this flower
girl file, do the following:
***Create a card using 3 different types of lace. It could be paper lace,
real lace and or stamped lace.
***Have something that is the focal point if the card. It could be a
cut or stamped animal, person, flower....etc.
***Instead of a card folded in half (half-fold) , try to push yourself to do
something different. St-r-e-t-ch your limitations. For some
of you, this could be a tri-fold card....maybe you have never made one.
For some of you, it could be a pop-up card. But, whatever you pick, try a
NEW fold!
***Take a picture or scan the card and mail it as an attachment to
izzaboutchutoo@yahoo.com
***If you used a file that you want to share so that others can create it, that
is solely up to you but not necessary. I am not trying to get your files,
don't worry. It is only if you want to share. Whatever you
do, please DO NOT share the files from others. For example, if
your card has a flower that you got from a free file or a file that you bought
from elsewhere....DO NOT SHARE THAT FILE. Thank you in advance.
***I will be posting all entries in the gallery until the winner is
picked. For my protection and for yours, I will be scanning jpegs/files
with my virus software. If there is any indication that the jpg/file is
not safe, I will not upload it. Sometimes, we are unaware of what may be
attached from the computer diseases of other downloads. I can't guarantee
that even then it is safe....always...always....scan with your virus software
before downloading files from ANYWHERE!!
***All entries must be in by Thursday night at 9PM Eastern Standard Time.
I will draw your names randomly. There will be 5 winners of the Flower
Children file. I will post the winners' names in Saturday's
newsletter. Above all....the idea is for us all to be inspired!
***If you see that there are less than 5 winners, it will be because none of
you are into this week's challenge. This is all new to me...so please
bear with me. :-P
These are the FREE files that I added last week:
This Week's Featured Files: WEDDINGS
There are Brides, Holding Hands, Overlays, Horse Shoes,
Chasing the Groom, etc. It is summer and there are a lot of
weddings out there. There is a file that has charms that are meant to be
attached to the bumper of your car. I didn't include the car because the
file that I have belongs to the Pazzles Craft Room. (Which is a great
site!) I am sure that you all have car files. I haven't uploaded my
photos yet....just haven't had time. But I used a limo and had charms
dangling from the limo bumper. After I did it, I thought...it would have
looked great having just the rear of the car coming into the page and the
charms dangling from there. In case you can't figure out what some of
those charms are....they are supposed to be soup cans that should be cut out in
silver or gray paper. Have fun!
Other new files:
Animals: guinea pig
Critters & Things: worms poppin up for spring
Cards & Envelopes: Pop-up gift card holder
& 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 X 3/4 inch boxed envelope
Fantasy: Clown lady head
Flowers: Folded flowers (tucking petals)
Holidays/Seasonal: Vacations and Americana
Lace & Corners: Butterflies (layered file)
Mats & Overlays: Brackets
People: Brush and Comb Set (layered)
Sports: All of the Way Down the Field Cheer (words)
Next Week's Featured Files will be WEATHER!
If you have any ideas for files, please let me know. I know
that I got a lot of responses for the wrestling files. Seems that there
aren't that many out there. I have a grandson who won a tri-state
championship...so I had to design those for him....and yes...I am a proud
grandma! Anyway, let me know if you have ideas, and I will see what I can
come up with!
Please send ALL correspondence to the IzzaBoutChuToo@yahoo
email address. My Opal777 email address is a personal one. I have
an elderly mother who ails from time to time...and I need that one kept open
for personal communication. Thank you for understanding in advance.
:-)
HAPPY SCRAPPING!! See you next week!
